I received several calls from this company claiming I had a pending debt with Chase Bank for $2500.when I asked them for the documents to validate the debt, they said they were not going to provide me with any information because I was not entitled to it (huge lie, because as a consumer I am protected by the law).

They began to question my morals for refusing to pay and thanked God I had no children. They said that I was not going to go far in life (really? which attorney's office will even say that?) I owe them nothing and when I said I had reported them to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the Federal Trade Commission, and my State Attorney's office they said that I was running away from my debt. They continue to threaten me with court procedures, which I told them I welcomed because there is really nothing they could do, they threw another massive number in hopes of scaring me into paying, once again I said I would wait for the paperwork and based on that conversation they had to stop contacting me and deal via the court system, they said they would stop calling me, but they do it every single day and each day they are more menacing.

I have already done everything in my part, but there is nothing else I can do as they can change the number they are calling from.

Please be alert for people like this.Do file complaints with State Attorney's Offices, The Federal Trade Commission, and Consumer Finance Protection Buereau

We received a call from a man named Daniel Wood or so he says.He wanted to find out info on who handled my husbands' brothers estate.

We don't live in that state, but for some reason they felt it necessary to call us instead of his widow.

Now I see it's a scam and will be very cautious in the future. Not sure what their game is, but definitely people to watch.

For at least the last year, an illegal group of debt collectors have been terrorizing consumers, their family, friends, and employees threatening to arrest the individual of an unpaid loan or other debt (their generally don't even owe).Be aware debt is a civil matter, not a criminal matter, and you can't be arrested.

They threaten a warrant if the victim does not pay a sum of money by the credit card over the phone.

Some of the people they are calling do not owe a debt. Others they are calling have already settled their debt with the organization who owns the accounts. Even if you do owe a debt, do not be deceived by the actions of this group. Many of the accounts they are attempting to collect they do not own.

In other words, if you pay these people, that is not going to clear your debt with its rightful owner.

Although when pressed the callers give the victim an address in Columbia South Carolina (usually a vacant lot or a UPS Store) or Atlanta GA (often a parking lot near the bus station or a Peachtree Road Address). They are actually out of the Charlotte North Carolina area some that claim to have worked there say they are located at 5000 Nations Crossing Road, this has not been verified. The scammers are using the following business names (and there are many others, and they seem to create new ones daily).

They will normally answer the call back number as “Investigations”

I to have received these calls stating the same things.I actually called Chase and Have in writing that my balance with them is $0.

I have told this "firm" that they will be receiving a validation of debt request and if they do not comply they will receive a "cease communication" letter. If they continue I will retain an attorney and this is a an easily winnable legal case for harassment.there are many cases which with similar situations that where the judge has rules in favor of he consumer.
