I received a call from 844-441-5704 from a person named Dennis basically telling me if I didn't call back, my "case" would be referred for legal action. He said his company was called R&A.

I looked up "R&A" - nothing. So i called and a woman on the phone mumbled the name of the company so I asked her to clarify it. Sounded like Richard and sons Associates. Then she said it was Richardson and Associates.

Turns out it's Simms but they use several names to do business.. I finally talked to Dennis and he said he was calling on behalf of a payday loan company that I defaulted on and that if I didn't say I would clear it up today, they would refer it for legal action. He wanted me to confirm my SS# - I said no way and he just kept shouting at me that I needed to confirm that was my number - yes or no. I explained that I would not since I didn't know who was calling and again he said that he was not a collection agency and that he was just trying to verify a debt that I owed for their client.

Again, no more information other than it was from 2010 and they would settle for $980. Dennis got louder and louder as I refused to give him any information or commit to a repayment without seeing some type of documentation or information regarding this loan. He also stated that they had been mailing me information for "at least a year" and I'd been ignoring it (blatantly untrue - I never received anything). He finally just said they would refer it and hung up.

I will definitely report this to my state's GA as well as the BBB.

And, of course, keep an eye on my credit report.

Tell them to screw off as the statute of limitations has expired and 1 more year left before it falls off of the credit report. Tape the call as well as threaten to put the recorded phone call on youtube.

Same thing happened to me.She said she was a mediator for Richards and associates.

This was all in voicemail. She said if I don't call them back they will actively be pursuing me at my work and home and I relinquish all rights at that point.
